After viewing the images, I remembered how sheltered I was as a child. I grew up on a small farm in a remote town with a population of approx. 15,000. Our entertainment primarily consisted of working the farm and family interaction. There wasn't a lot of sleep overs or socializing with friends outside of school. Since my mom stayed at home, we didn't endure the daycare process which most likely was a good thing. However, I'm very shy and introverted so, for me, it may have been an enriching experience to go to daycare as well as participate in swimming lessons, gymnastics, dance, etc.
What makes me laugh? I would have to say that socializing with friends, my Pug "Bronco," my nieces and nephew and a good comedy.

Hi Noelle! It is interesting to think about the balancing effects we could have experienced within our childhoods as you're saying about that perhaps more group-activities would have benefitted your shyness as a child.
And yet, we are formed by the very less-balanced situations we find ourselves brought up within and I wonder if this leads to prompting individuals to seek out expression of working through an imbalance or perceived imbalance via art and/or facilitates in a deeper-felt appreciation of art? Hmmm....
Fascinating to ponder...
it is interesting to wonder about the relationship between being sheltered early and being shy later on. I do not know that being shy is a problem per se, not unless the shy person wishes she or he were less shy, I guess. I wonder if being shy has anything to do with the degree or kind of memories one brings with them from childhood... beyond the scope of this class!
